The Four Seasons Philadelphia is located at the top of Philadelphia’s tallest building (also the tallest building in the United States not in Chicago or Manhattan). PDM was hired in 2016 to assist the construction and design teams with the 220 bathrooms in the hotel rooms. Due to a variety of factors, a conventional modular bathroom unit was not feasible. The bathrooms were not able to be field constructed either. PDM came up with a hybrid model that allowed us to prefabricate most of the elements of the modular bathroom unit while giving the owner and Construction Manager the schedule, quality and cost certainty needed for such a difficult design. What started as 220 identical bathrooms turned in to 36 unique styles and PDM adapted to the needs of the project.
